About Anime
You may have some preconceptions about cartoons being "just for kids" or about Japanese animation being "just for grown-ups". But Japanese animation, called anime, is a wonderfully diverse form of entertainment. Just about any genre of film or television programming has its anime counterpart. Anime content ranges from cartoons suitable for preschoolers to animated films with adult themes, encompassing every age group in between. We believe there is an anime genre for everyone - the key is finding which genre is the one you’ll fall in love with!
About Shoujo
New Galaxy's focus will be anime for all ages, in particular shoujo (anime for girls). You will discover from the titles we release that the shoujo genre of anime is beautifully tailored to the hopes and aspirations of young girls. Meaningful friendships, first romances, and all of the whole-hearted dramas of youth abound in shoujo series. Rather than the simple, watered down fare that is much of today's entertainment for young girls in North America, the shoujo genre offers complex storylines, realistic character development, and substantial content, entertaining the mind as well as the heart.
Though anime titles aimed at teens and adults have gained much popularity in North America, New Galaxy will primarily release family-friendly titles. The most wonderful thing about the titles we will release is that they are entertaining and appropriate for people of all ages!
About Anime as Art
Anime is entertainment, but it is also art. For this reason, New Galaxy will strive to release titles without altering the original meaning of the dialogue (called "rewrites") or editing scenes out. We will do our best to respect the original work of each title’s creators while delivering appropriate content for general audiences.
